Mayor of East Jakarta, Bambang Musywardhana, said that the flood that inundates Hek area, Kramatjati is due to the narrowness of the junk filter tool and low dike on Baru River.

He had proposed this matter to Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama for sheet pile installation.

“Hek area is prone to flood due to lower geography contour. I have reported and proposed for sheet pile to Mr. Governor along Baru Riverbank ," he expressed, when he visited Hek area, Monday (11/16).

The current dike condition on the east side is having height between 50-80 cm. While on the west side, it is about 1 m.

Ideally, it should be installed about 2 m height to accommodate more water.

The latest data mentions water in citizen residential has receded. But the problem is trash left by flooding. “We send PPSU officer to clean trash in the field,” he disclosed.
